Long Island Polar Plunge Events for 2025

January: Town of Huntington Polar Plunge

Where: Frank P. Petrone Crab Meadow Beach, Waterside Road, Northport

When: January 11, registration from 9-10 a.m., plunge at 10:30 a.m.

Cost: Donation

Details: Proceeds support Special Olympics athletes. Participants who raise at least $150 will receive an official plunge sweatshirt.


February: Long Beach Polar Bear Super Bowl Ocean Splash

Where: Riverside Boulevard, Long Beach

When: February 9, plunge at 1:30 p.m.; merchandise sales at 10 a.m.; festivities begin at noon

Cost: Donation

Details: This annual event benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation, bringing hope and joy to children with critical illnesses.


February: North Hempstead Polar Plunge

Where: North Hempstead Beach Park, 175 W. Shore Rd., Port Washington

When: February 8, registration at 9 a.m., plunge at 10 a.m.

Cost: Donation

Details: Another opportunity to support Special Olympics athletes. Raise $150 to receive an official plunge sweatshirt.


March: Smithtown Polar Plunge

Where: 552 Long Beach Rd., St. James

When: March 8, registration at 1 p.m., plunge at 2 p.m.

Cost:

• Single dip: $30

• Two dips: $50

• Group of 5 or more: $25 per person

• Virtual plunge: $20

Details: Proceeds benefit the Smithtown Children’s Foundation. All participants receive a commemorative T-shirt.


March: Town of Oyster Bay Polar Plunge

Where: Tobay Beach, Ocean Parkway, Massapequa

When: March 29, registration at 9 a.m., plunge at 11 a.m.

Cost: Donation

Details: This plunge supports Special Olympics athletes. Participants raising $150 or more will get an official plunge sweatshirt.
